Computational Fluid Dynamics

Laser Doppler Velocimetry

Areas for gains in productivity:                      Computational Fluid Dynamics

Computational Fluid Dynamics is a great tool to calculate the whole flow field in a mixing vessel.  Weetman has been using computational fluid dynamics since 1989 (Fluent Inc. codes) to solve mixing problems and to design mixing impellers.

                                                                                                    CFM Preprocessor

Weetman has written a preprocessor (CFM) for the Fluent CFD code that enables mixing problems to be setup in minutes instead of hours (for LDV input) or weeks (for 3D geometry).

                                                                                              Laser Doppler Velocimetry

The Laser Doppler Velocimeter is a nonintrusive instrument that measures the mean and turbulent flow quantities of the flow field.   Weetman developed the first industrial automated laboratory in 1976 and has used it to develop all of his mixing impellers.
